bellesdejour .

as i drove over the Anzac Bridge on the way to work this morning I couldn't help but be bored at the sight of Sydney . Why is it all the foreigners want to come here but we can't wait to escape this place . Paradise beach parties in Greece, riding a gondola in Venice, getting lost in the streets of Paris, walking up the leaning tower of Pisa, or exploring the Pyramids in Egypt . What do we have here that compares? don't get me wrong it's a great country to live in....but oh so boring . It's not as though I can jump on a train and be in London within 2 hrs. no, it would take me a whole day by plane + a $2000 airfare! I guess it doesn't help that it will be my birthday in 8 months which I'll be spending in Paris, pun intended .
so . Land in Rome, Barcelona, Ibiza, London, Paris, Mykonos, Santorini, Venice, Milan, Egypt, Capri, Rome, Australia . until then, countless gym sessions, window shopping and googling .

My last purchase; Peter Alexander Pyjamas Christmas in Paris - now serious saving .and day dreaming .

houseof"iloveyou"harlow .

ok ok so im delayed with these pieces .im sorry .
its from Nicole Richie's first line from her House of Harlow brand .(DUH i hear you say )
everytime i wanted these pieces .it was about the timing .
it was either not in stock .pre order .or i didnt have the money .or my internet was down .or it was the perfect birthday present for my sister .
but lets face it .sharing sometimes just doesnt work .what happens when you both want to wear it ?
finally i have two newbies to add to my collection .
thankyou tax money .you paid for a piece of heaven .

thatmanSTOLEmymanolos .

Its one thing when a designer makes something you absolutley adore .but it is another thing when a
"chain" store/and or brand copies and totally destroys it .and once the word gets out everyone jumps on the bandwagon .and then you cry .

ok ok im being dramatic .but it bothers me ocasionally .

perfect example .the to die for dior gladiator heels worn by Carrie Bradshaw (SATC the movie) .
when i first saw them i just thought holy shit .i die .gorgeous .love you .
Unfourtunately only weeks later they were killed .wittner .tony bianco .siren .and some other plastic vile version im not sure even deserve a mention .

stop with the slaughtering of the beautiful things .i beg of you!

I'm not a pretentious "designer only" mole .and of course that lifestyle is not attainable for many .I think it all comes down to taste and personal style .because lets face it honey: no matter how rich you are that shit can't be taught .

But my point is this .

(homage to Carrie) When i sit and think a little I couldn't help but wonder
when you love the un attainable .it takes over
your mind with endless thought .
when given the substitute option .should you settle?

is anything really sacred anymore ?

peace out .

fingerscrossed .

Today made me feel like I was 4 years old again, carrying my minnie mouse plushie toy around Burwood Westfield with my name, address and phone number printed on its bum . After following my mum around for hours we finally reached the car, when I looked down at my hand it was gone .  ps who ever picked it up never called . I cried all the way home - luckily I had two of them; one safely in my room . Still it's always upsetting to depart from something you love .
Today I handed over my Vintage Chanel bag to the Chanel store in desperation, hoping that they will be able to repair it .
It all started on Saturday night . I had my Zimmermann dress on that I had only worn once since I bought it almost a year ago, Balenciaga shoes that kill like hell but i love them because Mary-Kate Olsen has them, and my vintage Chanel . when i got home that night i realised the C's were a little bit loose. A screw had fallen out .
Then today I was in Balmain's "Mint Condition" searching through vintage dresses when i heard something metal fall to the ground . I paid no attention and continued the path to my car. when i sat down with my bag on my lap the C's and the backing had fallen on to my lap...you know that feeling you get when for a second you can't find your wallet and your heart drops in to your stomach, and your chest feels like it's caving in? Yea that exact feeling . So I ventured to Bondi Junction only to be told they might not be able to fix it because the hardware is now different . I moped around the shops sipping my Max Brenner Milk Hot Chocolate - not even the sight of Zimmermann's new Swimwear Range was enough to put a smile on my face . Chanel will contact me in one week . until then i can see this week going extremely slow...my boyfriend has been very supportive but deep down i know he thinks im a looney! although Im sure if I stole his Playstation3 with FIFA11 inside he might feel slightly empathetic .

until then . xx and fingers xx

oh and this is what I wore....sorry i'm a bit lazy when it comes to photos of my outfit . i promise to improve!

behindthescenes .

I was thrilled when my friend had asked me to model her clothes for her final marking at The Whitehouse Fashion Institute of Design .Up early on a Monday morning I got in my car, drove down the road to the train station and $8 later I was on my way to Museum Station .I arrived at 7:48am and made my way up Oxford St, and then right at Flinders St, 15 minutes later...
I jumped in the lift filled with 3 designers and their props for their line . 3 floors up and I had finally arrived .
I was in the room for not even 5 minutes when drama started. One student who had outsourced a few pieces and had them made externally was going to meet her sewer and collect her tops to discover she wasn't there nor was she answering her 50 million phone calls -  we further discovered she wasn't going to either and was deliberately trying to sabotage the student .eep!
Also, a girl who had agreed to model for my friend had pulled out that morning .the "fucks" and "bitches" were flying out of several mouths - i found it quite amusing!
Nonetheless despite the tantrums and tears everything worked out, I wore a beautiful long navy blue woollen dress and for her friend I wore an outfit that I would describe similar to Lady GaGa's style (it was crazy awesome!). Marie Antoniou (the designer) started teasing my hair, which I knew would be a disaster to brush out after as I have extremely long hair but the effect was cool . I then jumped in to make up . now, my sister and fellow blogger Nat, is a make up artist and she has taught me a thing or two about makeup .First of all I had a bit of powder and blush on to cover my early morning wake up scarey face . As I sat down the make up artist was about to apply make up when I had to warn her that I was already wearing make up and if i could please have a wipe .after removing my make up she started painting my face . I honestly felt like I had a 5 year old finger painting my face . AWESOME!  I knew it was going to look terrible. She also used a shade of foundation lighter than my skin, this will look awesome under lighting and flashes (note the sarcasm) . then the blush . she some how managed to create a square of blush on my cheek . smokey eye and a dark lip . at the end I looked nothing like the brief and I looked like a vampire on Halloween . The foundation against my skin tone turned grey . ha could've done a better job myself! The second make up look was an improvement apart from the eye shadow that made me look like a glitter disco barbie .Otherwise it was an interesting day, I had fun apart from walking outside to rain absolutley pissing down only to realise I had no umbrella. FUCK!

I don't have any pictures of what I wore just yet, but I will share this behindthescenes photo from someone elses collection .

nothing short of amazing .more pictures to come .

stop!inthenameofthelaw .

where to begin with this blog....I've never been a public transport person, fortunately school was always close to home and work was always somewhere with parking, up until now that is. Over the last year i've become accustomed to trains now that my office is in North Sydney, i've learnt to deal with the unpleasant crowded peak hour services, the nasty morning breath or BO of fellow passengers along with their germs.  It's only recent that my new mode of transport occasionally has been buses.
I thought I had too conquered this mode of transport until yesterday afternoon. I was minding my own business surfing ebay on my iphone and hadn't even noticed the bus stop until a middle aged man in uniform was standing in my space asking to see my ticket, i pulled it out and handed over without my eyes hardly leaving my phone screen. He cleared his throat with a small cough and asked me to step off the bus cause he needed to have a word with me....

He advised in a stern voice that i had purchased the wrong ticket and this could lead to a pretty big fine. The confusion on my face must of triggered him to ask a few more questions, i answered all and explained that it was an honest mistake and that i rarely catch the bus and don't live in the area. Still not convinced i was left with only one last comment to make...
...Sir, i'm standing in a $400 Zimmermann dress and wearing a Louis Vuitton ring, believe me...ripping off the government to save a couple of $$ is hardly my style...
Lucky for me the officer found this amusing and let me off with a warning....
I'm guessing deep down he understands the meaning of saving money to add wonderful brands to your wardrobe and not wasting it on silly fines...xo

cantkickthehabit .

Online shopping has proved to be a major issue for me . I could almost compare it to the addiction of a heroin junkie! Especially when I had sworn I would save my pennies for europe to only receive; "Sass & Bide Warehouse sale!!" via email . FML! I just have to keep reminding myself that the more I spend now the less I spend in Europe .I also need to stop thinking "I have just enough to buy the 2.55 Classic Chanel Bag"....

Some people turn to online shopping out of laziness . I choose to shop online because 1. We don't have access to certain brands/styles in Australia 2. It can be cheaper especially when buying YSL shoes and 3. for some reason its exciting when you receive a package with your name on it!

After religiously checking my mailbox, I finally received this;

A little slow in transit but after many emails requesting a "tracking number", finally it arrived! Although the process was a little slow, Carmen (the customer service lady person...what ever you call her) was lovely & very helpful...and also patient as I must have been an impatient major pain in the ass!

homesweethome .

I was lucky to be invited tonight to visit the Coco Republic showroom and design school. The words 'blown away with perfection' spring to mind...unfortunately so did 'how can i earn enough money without turning tricks in order to buy a lamp shade' did as well...

Although out of my price range it felt great to be amongst such great inspiring pieces...it's the same feeling i get when i stand in the Ready to Wear or Cruise Collections of the Chanel boutique. Some people don't understand but for me being amongst such beautiful hand crafted original designs makes me want to stand taller and channel a classic historical women of fashions past....Audrey Hepburn.

Hope you enjoy some of the pictures i took while sipping on Champagne....xo
